Steph Houghton crafted her football skills at Sunderland’s football academy. She joined Sunderland’s senior side in 2002, left the club in 2007 and joined Leeds United, where she stayed until 2010. In 2010, she made a big move to Arsenal.

The England centre-back played 74 times for Arsenal from 2010 to 2013 in the FA Women’s Super League (WSL) and scored 11 goals. Since 2014, she has been playing for Manchester City in the WSL. Steph made her England debut in 2007 and has played more than 100 times for her beloved country. She also played a huge role to help the Three Lionesses reach the semi-finals of the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, where they lost to the United States 2-1 at Parc Olympique Lyonnais in France.
